Nestled in a beautiful gulf, protected at
north by picturesque mountains, it is distributed in a harmonious way, made of
squares and characteristic alleys in the heart of the town. Rich in churches
and monuments, evidence of a past rich in history and administrative-religious
importance, Gravedona is certainly one of the pearls of Lake Como.
The name derives from Grava: a term used to
indicate a coast or stony ground.
Gravedona today no longer appears in the
aspect of a time, when the name was imposed, but in the pastel colors of its
houses that extant that stony tongue of land that suggests tranquility and rest
since when, lapping the water of the shore , entering the blue of the lake and
mingling with it, gives a serious and reflective mysterious chromaticity that
